Senior secondary vocational education (MBO) and Schoevers’ secretarial programme. Worked as Management Assistant in logistics services. Started working at Kloosterboer in 2007.

My story

My job as Management Assistant is incredibly varied. I regularly handle unexpected situations that usually require a rapid response but I enjoy the pressure. There’s a very straightforward attitude among colleagues in port and logistics which I really like and I feel ‘at home’ in this environment. My responsibilities start with my supportive role to the General Manager. In addition, I carry out the administration for staff information, maintain the training schedule and process time records for both permanent and part-time staff. I take care of purchasing and orders for a number of areas including packaging materials, office items, furniture, work clothing and other consumables. I also organise and schedule meetings and company outings. Certain facility matters are also my responsibility such as organising the cleaning.

As a Management Assistant, I have a position of trust within the organisation. It’s important to me that my colleagues know they can come to me for assistance. They know that their question or concern is in good hands when I deal with it. Being committed to them means a lot to me and I see it as a sign of appreciation when colleagues approach me and give me the opportunity to help them solve problems.
