Having first started as Assistant Foreman, I am now working as Foreman, supervising a group of colleagues. Starting at 7.00 a.m., I assign staff to load and unload products. Lorries need to be loaded differently each time and not just because the load itself varies but because every driver has his or her own preferences. Therefore my job involves a lot of communication. Even as goods are leaving our warehouse, new loads are continually arriving. We check all incoming goods and make sure these are stored correctly. Cargo that arrives by container in the port is transferred to a trailer, otherwise known as 'cross-docking'.
A big plus in working for Kloosterboer is that the company makes sure that its employees are aware that their contribution counts. I feel that I play a key role in the company and that’s a great feeling.
